Who We Are

Better Together Age Friendly Nanaimo is a Seniors Connect program Seniors Connect is a three year collaborative partnership funded by the Government of Canada New Horizons program. The partnership includes the City of Nanaimo, Nanaimo Family Life Association, Lifeline, Nanaimo Women's Resource Centre and HealthWell Educators and Consultants Ltd. The aim of the collaborative is to reduce social isolation in Nanaimo at the population level.

As a community, we can all help to prevent social isolation. Reducing social isolation requires a multi-pronged collaborative approach that involves everyone! People of all ages in all walks of life, organizations/services that seniors use and businesses all have a role to play in preventing social isolation.



Our initiatives, Better Together: Age-Friendly Nanaimo include:

We offer certification as a "Better Together Champion". The training includes learning to identify the signs and risks of social isolation, and what actions can be take to prevent it.
